Who we are
Our mission is simple: Cultivating God’s Wholeness in a Broken World. We see pain and brokenness in the world all around us and we believe that God is working to make it whole. We want to join in the work God is doing and see people discover wholeness and freedom.
Where we come from
Duneland Community Church began life back in 1947 as Chesterton Church of the Nazarene. The church was reborn in 1999 with a new name, a new vision, and a new passion to be good news here in our community. We moved our worship services into the former Pioneer Lumber warehouse in 2009 and purchased the building and surrounding land in 2012.
Where we're headed
Beyond anything else, DCC is committed to empowering everyday people to experience God, discover God's call upon their life, and to go out into the world to join with God in remaking all things. Rather than a strategic plan, longterm vision, or set of goals, we have a way of life we are committed to. We believe that God is actively working to reconcile all things and that we can, through our shared life together, be shaped and formed so that we can discern and join in that work. We are continually delighted by the new and unexpected ways that God opens opportunities for us to be good news in our world.
What this means for you
What does this mean for you? It means that you are invited to come and be part of our community. We are a welcoming and people centered community that wants to welcome everyone we meet with grace. We believe that God loves just as you are, but that God loves you too much to leave you that way. God is at work in all of our lives. We would love to help you discover how God is at work in your life and the world around you.
