We have moved! Come and join us on Sunday mornings for worship at our new building at 10 am. . The facility is located at 1550 Pioneer Trail, Chesterton, IN. Click here to see it on a map. We want to tell you about the move, why we are making the move, and let you know about all the ways we need your help and support.
Why are we moving? Since our launch almost ten years ago, DCC has met in schools for worship. Our current location has been our home for almost 7 years. Being in schools has allowed us to be flexible and to survive financially throughout this time, but it has also come with serious drawbacks. For ten years we have had to show up and set up for worship every Sunday morning. This has taken a huge toll on our volunteers and equipment. We also have been limited in regards to ministry space and access. Further, not having our own space has limited our visibility in the community, our ability to build community as a church, and many of the ministries that we feel called to. The warehouse at Pioneer Lumber will help us address several of these issues. First, we won't have to set up and tear down each week. That is a huge benefit to our volunteers who can now use their time and energy for more exciting ministries. Second, we will dramatically increase our visibility. The facility at Pioneer is in one of the most highly visible locations in our town. Tens of thousands of cars each week will now drive by our facility and see our signs. In addition we will have access to the space 24/7 and this alone will allow us to expand many of our ministries. Over the past ten years our church has been fortunate to find and purchase twelve acres of land to build a long term facility for our church on. This move is being viewed as a transitional move that will allow us to grow and build our congregation so that we can continue forward with our dream to build on this land. We are taking this step of faith trusting that God will show us our next move during our time at Pioneer. What help do we need? Thank you for all who have given so sacrificially of their time, so many resources, and their finances. The transformation of this facility is truly amazing. We still have a lot of work to do, however, and if you can help do drywall work, move some of our stuff around, build some classrooms or set up rooms contact the office because we would love to have your help.
